Week 79: It's gettin' hot ova here! Literally. 🙃🔥

Sooooo do you guys remember when it was like the beginning of February and we were all like, "Oh my goodness! It's already February? How weird is that??" And do you remember how it's already like MARCH THIS WEEK? OH MY HECK WHAT IS GOING ON?!? Seriously, like the more I think about it it's just weird.

Wanna hear something way funny that happened to me this week? Okay! If you said no, I'm going to tell you anyways. Wednesday night we get home from a really good day, and I'm like dang, I want some salchipapas (hot dogs and french fries) so I start making them. I heat up the oil, cut up the hot dogs and start cooking those, then when the oil was hot I dumped the fries into the oil and life was great. After like 30 seconds of the fries being in the oil, I didn't want them to stick together, so with a spatula, I moved them around a little. While doing so, I spilled some oil out onto the stove BOOM! FREAKING INSTANT FLAME EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! It spread like wildfire all over the stove. Hahahahahahaha! I was literally freaking out! I went into shock and my mind went blank and had no idea what to do!  My companion was showering so he can't hear anything and I'm still in the kitchen wondering how the heck I'm gonna get out the fire and continue to live. So anyway, I pick up the fries from the fire and put them on the table and I turn off the stove and the fire is still growing this whole time like, really fast hahahah. Then I stop and I'm looking for something to do and I saw a rag so I grabbed it, stuck it under the sink and got it super wet and then just started whacking the living crap out of the fire and after about 4 or 5 whacks the fire was gone! It turned into a massive cloud of black smoke that filled the whole house! My comp gets out of the shower and goes, "What the heck is that smell?" I say "salchipapa hijo mío"! Oh my gosh! When I finally got the fire out I was shaking so bad. In the mission, adrenaline rushes don't come very often so when they do, no matter how small the rush, they come harddd! 😂 It was such good fun and at the end of the day, the salchipapas were delicious! :)

I can't remember if I talked about Gabriel last week or not. He's a kid who's family is all members and we just barely figured out that he wasn't a member so we talked with him and his parents to see if we could teach him and he was all about it. On Tuesday, we had our first cita with him and we went into the lesson not knowing really exactly what we should teach... but the Spirit took over sooo hard once we got going. We went in and started talking with him and his dad, we talked about their 20 year old son who's studying in Brazil. They're also from Brazil so they have a thick Brazilian/Portuguese accent. Haha! I love it! I practice my Portuguese with them. They're awesome. Anyways, we got talking to Gabriel and I started asking him about what he likes to do and what he likes about the church and he shared his favorite scripture (Ether 12:6) talking about faith. After he shared that, I knew exactly what to talk about... faith! We talked about faith, repentance, baptism, gift of the Holy Ghost & enduring to the end. He accepted a baptismal date for the 11th of March! He wants his dad to baptize him, which is kinda hard cuz his dad works as a truck driver so he's barely ever here.. so while he's gone right now, we are going to teach Gabriel everything and when he gets home, he'll be able to baptize him. :) Miracles people... MIRACLES! *in Josh's voice from Drake & Josh*

We had a really good lesson with Leonor and her daughter Sara. We read thru the pamphlet of the Plan of Salvation and they had some really good questions about some good things that we helped them answer. She made us empanadas that were delicious. :) After the lesson was over, Sara went and got her iohawk hoverboard thing so you all know I hopped on that thing and took it for a little spin. 😎 Getting on and off that thing made me feel SO uncoordinated.  Oh man it was bad. I didn't fall tho so that was good.

Other than that we pretty much just walked a tonnnnn so that sucks! It's all part of the experience, right? My time here in Fuen is quickly coming to an end, I think. I should be out of here and in to my last area around middle/end of March, but we will see what happens. I love and miss you all and hope you're doing wonderful. 😊😊😊 HAVE A FANDIDLYDASTIC WEEK 🤡

Much love.

Week 78: 🚀🔱💠

Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey :)

Hi everyone!! I sure hope that everyone is swell. I'm swell.

Well let's see where to start... we travelled a lot haha. It started in Tuesday when my homie Elder Layton was here in Fuen for a meeting, and he left his bag in the office. He caught a train to Malaga (40 mins) so that he could catch a bus to Murcia (8 hours). So we knew if he didn't get his bag, it'd be a while until he saw it again. 😂 SO being the total homie I am (and wanting to see him again lol), I offered to catch the 40 minute train ride to Malaga to give him his
bag before his bus left. His bus left @ 4:30, and we got to the bus at 4:28. call me Mr. Clutch 💯. Yay!  He got his bag before he left so that was good.

Then on Thursday, I had a district leader training in Malaga. It was a really good meeting. I got some good insights and whatnot. :) Later that night, we were on our way home with President Andersen, and I got a call from a kid who just got home from his mission like two weeks ago and he told me
that one of the families in our ward has a kid who is 10 years old and isn't baptized but he wants to get baptized now! We talked to his parents yesterday at church and set up a cita with them for tomorrow night so we're excited to see how it goes! I'll keep you guys updated. :)

Do you guys remember that couple Gonzolo & Kelsey who we taught about a month and a half ago and the wife is from Michigan? Well, we finally got in to teach them again! Last time they had a ton of questions about everything. We answered most of them, but this time they had even more questions! Sooooo many different things hahaha. Anyway, we started off by teaching the restoration, but about mid way through the discussion we got talking about the Plan of Salvation. We talked a ton about the Celestial Kingdom and how we can get there and have true and everlasting happiness. :) They both said they want to find the truth, and do what it takes to get there and be together forever. While talking about that, we got back on topic about Joseph smith and we taught them the rest of the restoration and the Book of Mormon. It was a way solid lesson and we set up another lesson for two Saturdays from now. :)

Bridget and Leonor are both doing really well.. we couldn't meet with Bridget, but we met with Leonor on Friday! Her kids were going absolutely zoinks when we got there so I decided to call an audible and change the lesson to an activity I've learned about prayer. :) It turned out really well and Leonor actually really liked it as well so it was good. 😊

Other things that happened this week:

  • We met with a guy named Victor who is from Bolivia and has a decent amount of potential! We will be meeting with him on Wednesday so that's good. :)
  • We had a zone conference in Malaga on Friday and it was another really long but good conference. Luckily I didn't get chosen to speak again. 😅 #1&DUN
  • JASON WARD SHOWED UP IN FUENGIROLA YESTERDAY FOR CHURCH AND IT WAS SO FREAKIN' AWESOME TO SEE HIM. HEY GUY!!!! Thanks for the visit J, can't wait to see you again in a short 4. 😊
Well kin, I love you all, and I hope you're all wonderful. Let me know if I can do anything for ya, cuz you know I'm always here for you 😊💰

HAVE A GREAT WEEK TALKTOYALLIN7 💯

Much love.

Week 77: Deja Vu 🙃

This past week was a great week!

I'll start off by saying what happened back home cuz it's short & sweet and I'm stoked about it. On Wednesday I got an email from the old man & mama bear saying that I received a full ride scholarship to go down and play QB at Dixie State University! 🙌🏻 It's crazy to think that the dream of playing college football just became a huge reality and I'm so stoked for this blessing and opportunity I have to continue playing footbal at DSU 🏈💯 😇💰.

Our week of missionary work was really good!! We found a few new people to teach. We've been contacting people in the streets a lot more and we've found a couple solid investigators by doing so!

Saturday - we had interviews with President and mine went well. We talked a lot about how to finish my mission strong. He gave me a lot of good insight on what to do and a lot of helpful things. He's a good man. :)  During my interview it honestly hit me like a truck that my time of being a full time missionary for this church is coming to an end and it's approaching quickly. 😅😩 It's absolutely crazy to think about. President talked a lot about going home and what life will be like and how important the temple is for the future. Yes, it was trunky.

We also met with Bridget finally!!!! We talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the things we have to do to gain eternal life. We read in 2 Nephi 31 with her and we invited her to be baptized and she accepted for the 18th of March!!! It was such an awesome lesson and a great way to end a dooooope week!!! She told us she really wants to gain her own testimony and that she hasn't been the best at doing her part cuz she's been sick and busy but she knows she needs to do her part to receive the blessings :) It was a way good lesson!

😂 I love you all and hope you have a WONDERFUL week! You'll hear from me in another short 7 days. 😛

Much love.

Week 76: Llámame Papito 😈💰 😈💰

MY FAMILY!!

WAAAZZZZUUPPPP! 😛 Oh my good golly gee! I hope you all understand how much I love & miss you all. I can't tell you all how much I appreciate all of your support that you've all given me. I loved getting birthday wishes from all of you and THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WISHES!! Being 20 feels the exact same as 19 did! The only thing different is that the only FULL YEAR of my life without seeing all you beautiful humans is over. 😊 I sure am looking forward to my 20th year of life. I've got big things in store and I'm looking forward to it. 💰😊 Before I begin my letter, I need to give a  HUGE S|O to my boy Elder B. C. ESMEEEEEF cuz he cumplirs 20 TODAY. I cant wait to see that maricón in less than 6 months. Happy birthday chaval. Make it a good one & I'll be seein you reeeeeeeeeeal soon. :)

NOW ON TO MY WEEK... :)

Alrightyyy well luckily this week was a little bit more productive than the last one! I'll hit some of the highlights:

THE BIG LIST - So we started this thing as a mission and it's called The Big List. And basically, it's a big list of names . :) As missionaries we go around to members' houses and we just ask them to tell us people they know and how they know them. We don't want anything but the names. Our goal is to try and get 100 names in 30 minutes. Later, we will create a spreadsheet of the names and ways that the members can introduce the people on this list to the gospel. We did it with our second counselor and his family and we got 50 names with them. It was our first time doing it so I was ok with that. The second time we did it was with our friend Lorena who invited us over a couple weeks ago and brought a new friend every day of the week.  😂 We knew that would be a success.. we got 100 names! It was awesome :) so now this week we are going to create the papers. Next week we will go back and plan with both of them on how we can get these people introduced to the gospel. 😊

We finally met with Leonor again! It had been 3 weeks since we last met because she was sick! She's been taught everything, so we decided it would be best to just go over everything again and clear up any doubts or questions she has. We went over the Restoration with her, and at the end, I asked her if she had prayed to know if this church really was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. She said that she had and she knew that it was. She then told me she knew the Book of Mormon was proof of that and that's how she had received her answer. She said she read a ton during the time we weren't able to meet and that she was so busy but she would wake up at 5 in the morning just to read it!! She still wants to get baptized, BUT LIVES WITH HER FREAKING BOYFRIEND STILL!!! It's so frustrating knowing how many blessing are waiting for her if she would just talk to him about her desire to follow God and Jesus Christ. I know that I shouldn't be frustrated, but it's hard not to be. 🙄 She's an amazing woman and I know she will be baptized some day, but it will be when she's truly ready and when God says so. :) PRAY FOR HER PLEASE PEOPLE. I love you :)

My birthday was great. 😊 We planned that morning, then after I went to Elder Frost's house (senior couple here in the office) for certified for the TRUE ORDER OF THE SHAVE. It was dope. The day was bound to be good cuz I got a call from my boys Elders Beckstrom & Childers wishing me happy bday. As much as I love them, their singing
skills need as much help as possible. 😬 But hey, it's the thought that counts. ❤😂 For medio dia, we went and ate with our ward mission leader and their 3 year old daughter caked me in the face. I let her do it, and she was so happy after! Hahaha!  It was hilarious. The cake was way good too. Then that night, we went to the office and Sister Frost made me a TEXAS SHEET CAKE WITH HOMEMADE FROSTING. Gyyaaaaaaad! I love that. It was so good.

We have transfers this week, but since I'm training I'll be staying with my same comp and same area for at least another 6 weeks! I'm hoping I finish my mission here in Fuen because I don't want to pack up again unless I'm headed back to the 801 hehe. We'll see tho. I'll keep y'all homies up to date. I hope you all have a GRAND WEEK AND THANKS AGAIN FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!! Also, happy anniversary to the greatest parents on earth on the 11th. I love you mom and dad! 😊 #goalsaf

Much Love.
